Gdansk is a city on the Baltic Sea coast in northern Poland. It is the capital of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and the main port of Poland. Located at the southern end of the Gulf of Gdansk, near Gdynia and the spa town of Sopot, it forms an agglomeration called the Tri-City with about 1.5 million inhabitants. Gdansk is a well-connected center where European routes E28, E75 and E77 meet. National road no. 91 begins at the Port of Gdansk, and national road no. 7 and the S6 and S7 expressways intersect. In the city there is also Lech Walesa Gdansk Airport which is the third (after Warsaw and Krakow) airport in Poland in terms of the volume of passenger traffic.
