Frankfurt am Main | 14th June 2022. P3 Logistic Parks, a leading developer and long-term owner of logistics real estate in Europe, acquired part of the Ingram Micro logistics centre in Straubing, Lower Bavaria, in a sale-and-lease-back transaction as part of a share deal. CBRE acted as intermediary in the transaction.
The logistics property is fully let to Ingram Micro Distribution GmbH. The wholesaler for information and communication technology ships up to 60,000 parcels a day here to customers in Central and Eastern Europe. Today, the Ingram Micro warehouse in Straubing is the largest ICT logistics centre in Europe with 80,000 square metres. P3 is taking over a high-quality property with over 41,600 square metres of rental space at the location.
Sönke Kewitz, Managing Director of P3 Logistic Parks Germany, says: "Straubing stands out as a popular business location due to its mix of medium-sized companies. The property is located directly on the A3 motorway and is therefore particularly well connected to Austria and the Czech Republic. This location is ideally suited for globally active companies such as Ingram Micro Distribution GmbH. The excellent condition and flexible usability of the property also make it a pleasing addition to our portfolio."
Alexander Maier, Senior Vice President and Chief Country Executive Ingram Micro Germany and Austria, says: "We are pleased about the new partnership with P3 as a professional, leading developer and owner of logistics real estate. Our customers can continue to rely on our high level of professionalism and reliability in logistics. We will continue to cover over 40% of Ingram Micro's European logistics from the Advanced Distribution Center in Straubing through the realisation of the sale-and-lease-back process. At the same time, we gain liquidity and flexibility to accelerate the transformation of our business model from a distributor to a Technology Ecosystem Platform. Our goal is to bring all players, tools and processes together in a marketplace of integrated platforms to create a whole new digital business experience."
The logistics property was built in 1999 and is fully equipped with the latest LED technology. In the future, P3 plans to install PV systems and charging stations for electric vehicles.
