From March 2020, a new distribution centre for Amazon will be built in Lengede near Braunschweig. P3 Logistic Parks, long-term investor and developer of logistics real estate, has signed a long-term lease with the online retailer. CBRE Germany was responsible for mediating between P3 and Amazon.
The building will be equipped to the highest standards for efficient package delivery to the last mile to meet all the requirements of an Amazon distribution center. Packages arriving from Amazon's logistics and sorting centres will be picked up by delivery partners in Lengede and delivered to customers. Construction work will start in March and the distribution centre is expected to be operational in autumn 2020.

The new building strengthens our customer's logistics network and thus makes an important contribution to expanding its market position. In all projects it is crucial for P3 to offer our partners a real added value. We succeeded here, because Amazon has chosen a long-term cooperation. Of course, the regional economy also benefits from the partnership, because more than 80 jobs are to be created and the delivery partners also employ more than 250 drivers".
The property with a total area of 8,250 m² comprises a hall with a headroom of 10 metres and 1,150 m² of office space. Like all new P3 buildings, the property is designed in accordance with the DGNB Gold Standard in a sustainable manner and features, for example, energy-saving LED lighting and energy-efficient thermal insulation.
With the new distribution center, Amazon will increase the capacity of its supply chain and thus be able to offer its customers improved delivery options in the future.
