Bucharest, January 20th, 2021 – P3 Logistic Parks (“P3”) secures the long-term partnership with retailer Carrefour by prolonging the lease agreement for the 85,000 square meters of logistics space it currently occupies within the P3 Bucharest A1 park. The deal was brokered by real estate consulting company CBRE and represents one of the largest transactions concluded so far on the logistics market in Romania.
Sînziana Pardhan, Managing Director P3 Romania, states: ”Carrefour is P3 Bucharest A1’s biggest tenant, as well as one of its oldest lessee. Over the 13 years of collaboration a close partnership has taken shape between our teams: a partnership based on transparency, trust, quick reactions and constructive approach. We are delighted to continue this partnership and we would like to thank Carrefour’s team for the confidence they have invested in us. We would also like to reassure our tenant that P3’s team will continue to stay connected to its needs, showing the same professionalism and dedication as always. 2020 has shown us once again - especially during the moments of crisis and uncertainty that we have experienced - how important the FMCG segment is for the smooth functioning of modern society. We are glad to be hosting in our park one of the most important players on this segment.”
Carrefour Romania has continued to expand in 2020, opening 25 new stores, thus reaching a network of more than 360 physical stores, to which is added the online portal carrefour.ro, and Carrefour's listing in the Bringo platform with the Click & Collet delivery feature, available in 38 Romanian cities. Furthermore, Carrefour has been a tenant of the P3 Bucharest A1 industrial park since 2007, where it has gradually expanded its operations. Currently, Carrefour occupies a total area of 85,000 sq m, which includes a refrigerated Build-to-Suit (BTS) space and various modern technological solutions such as LED lighting, water supply management, energy efficient cladding (sealed and insulated refrigerated warehouse), and a complete building management system.
Răzvan Iorgu, Managing Director, CBRE România, adds: ”After 2020 propelled the industrial sector to becoming the star of the real estate market worldwide, this year, 2021, begins with a major transaction for the Romanian market. We are now in consolidation stage, a stage of large centralized warehouses and we expect more and more XXL warehouses to be taking shape both in Bucharest and in other key areas of the country. Thus, after a historical year in terms of traded volumes, 2021 has all the prerequisites to continue the positive evolution of the industrial and logistics market.”
P3 Bucharest A1 Park is located about 13 km west of Bucharest city center, with direct access to the A1 motorway. The total area of the park is of approximately 380,000 square meters and currently includes 14 buildings, a power station and a railway terminal. Among the largest tenants of the park, together with Carrefour, we see prominent names such as eMag, Yusen Logistics, Gebrüder Weiss, Elit, Agricover, HOPI, Europharm, Interbrands and E Van Wijk
