Christian Tretiak leads the German development and letting team with a focus on land acquisition, speculative as well as built-to-suit developments. He is passionate about solving problems and therefore always focuses on achieving his goals together with the team in an effective and constructive manner. He started working with P3 four years ago, when the company was just a startup in Germany, and he was one of the people making it a strong brand on this market.
Tell us more about your background.
As an architect and real estate economist, I have twelve years of professional experience as project and construction manager as well as asset manager and broker. Also, I am currently doing a Master of Arts in Real Estate and Corporate Leadership. I now combine technical and business management knowledge, which helps me manage on a very target-oriented way all the challenges that can come up in our daily business. Since January 2015, I have been the honorary head of the Arbeitskreis Rhein-Main des Immoebs e. V. for alumni and sponsors of the post-graduate and master’s courses in real estate economics.
What has been your biggest career challenge so far?
My biggest challenge was in 2009 to change myself, my personality and my mindset, from an architect with a technical focus into a real estate manager with an economic focus. The biggest challenge in this process was to get a second degree while working at the same time during the financial crisis.
“I love seeing how ideas become a reality and I also like to work with tangible values and people, because real estate is a business about people.”
Have you also grown personally with your work at P3?
I started at P3 in 2016 when the company was still quite new on the German market. In the last years, P3 has achieved a remarkable growth and is currently on the way to becoming a leading owner and developer of logistics real estate in Germany. I am very proud to be part of it. With P3 I grew up from being a developer to becoming the leader of four very unique colleagues I really appreciate to work with.
What do you want to achieve with P3 in the following years?
Together with our owner, GIC, we are looking to scale up the P3 platform and reinforce our leading position in Europe, through both development and acquisition. We want to offer companies exactly the logistics properties they need to grow on the market.
“I want to discover great investment opportunities and make the most of every chance that presents itself to us.”
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
What I care about the most is my family, with which I spend most of my free time. I am also focusing on building our own house right now. Apart from that, since May 2016 I have also been a guest lecturer at EBS University of Law and Economics in Wiesbaden. Finally, I enjoy cooking very much.
