After getting his master’s degree in finances, Aleš embarked on a career of a tax advisor at Deloitte, but after several years, he decided to start again from scratch and his journey led to the world of industrial real estate. Currently working as P3’s Head of Development for the Czech Republic, Aleš mainly focuses on development and built to suit projects within the existing or new locations.

How did you manage to adapt to change from financial segment to industrial real estate??

Industrial real estate tenants are changing their behaviour very quickly, especially during the covid times, and we are always trying to follow and fulfil client’s needs, which is generally not such a difference from financial segment. The key is to always be active in keeping up to speed with current events in your segment - tracking all new trends, reports, studies, events, and conferences worldwide. With a mindset like this, you can be successful in any area you choose.

What do you love about real estate?

Real estate business might not look like it, but it is a very inspiring line of business. It is a never-ending source for meeting amazing and very smart people from variety of companies and businesses. You would hardly find any business where you could meet so many decision makers face-to-face.

How does your usual day look like?

Usually, my day consists of a mix of e-mails, phone calls, or video chats, where I discuss ongoing projects as well as new potential opportunities with colleagues across all departments and creating ideas of how to support our business through various channels and sources. A significant part of my job is meeting with our clients and tenants as well, so driving around 3 000 km per month for business trips is not uncommon for me.

What do you like to do outside of work?

After I clock out, all that matters to me is my wife and son – I try to spend as much time as possible with them, especially outdoors in the nature. But I am no stranger to a golf course or a ski lift…
