Raquel trained in business management and administration at the University of Salamanca. She then joined Deloitte, in the outsourcing and accounting branch, where she worked for clients from different sectors, such as new technology companies or public institutions.

She then went on to work for Citco Corporate Management where she came into contact with the real estate sector, working with numerous investment funds whose main activity was investing in real estate assets of all types, from shopping centres to residential and logistics, which has experienced enormous growth in recent years. It was then that she made contact with P3 Logistic Parks, where she is currently the Financial Director in Spain.

What do you see as the benefit of your expertise for P3?

During my professional career I have had the good fortune to participate in different operations with institutional clients at an international level, broadening my knowledge and experience in the financial and transactional fields, in very different sectors of activity. Experience in the real estate sector is relevant, but I consider that knowledge of other sectors is very enriching when it comes to innovating within the financial department, where I can contribute a different vision that can be applied to the logistics sector.

The evolution and growth experienced by the logistics sector in recent years is, without a doubt, one of the most relevant parts of my professional career. Having worked with many international companies, with different internal structures and procedures, I have a good capacity to adapt to changes, which I consider important when working in a constantly evolving and growing environment.

From my point of view, it is very interesting to have the opportunity to create a financial department that can bring new ideas, added value in the evolution and perspectives of the business, as well as support global growth and business plans for the future.

THE LOGISTICS SECTOR HAS BEEN GROWING AND CONSOLIDATING OVER THE LAST DECADE.

What do you think is the outlook for the sector?

The real estate sector has changed a lot in the last decade. During the 2008 crisis, property owners (among others) were forced to look for other ways to make the business sustainable. During this period, the logistics sector has been growing and consolidating its position in the market, becoming one of the most attractive sectors within the real estate industry.

The change in business models, consumer habits, the improvement of technologies and the importance of sustainability mean that the prospects for the logistics sector are very positive.

TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT AND ONLINE COMMERCE HAS HAD A POSITIVE IMPACT ON REAL ESTATE.

What are you most proud of?

To have created from scratch a financial department in Spain and to be able to be part of this big family. I started alone in the P3 Spain team at the end of 2017, and since then I have been able to create and build a team composed of P3 employees and consultants. One of the biggest challenges has been my role in the implementation of the management and reporting systems at European level and to be able to provide a quick response and financial analysis that allows us to optimize our investment strategies in Spain. I consider myself a passionate person, which makes me enjoy everything I do.

What makes you unique?

According to what people tell me, I would say my good humor and my sociable personality. I like to adapt to any kind of profile and break with the stereotype that financial people live by and for our Excel (although it is true that I am addicted to this tool both professionally and personally).
